Prayagraj: The second batch of 216 teachers from Tamil Nadu, who are in the state to take part in second edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS), on Thursday arrived in Prayagraj from Varanasi and were speechless by the grandeur of the Sangam and the hospitality of the people under the theme of “Atithi Devo Bhav”.
The visitors were given a red-carpet welcome at the VIP ghat amid classical music and dance.They took a streamer ride from VIP ghat to Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati amid chants of ‘Har Har Gange’.
They also offered prayers at Hanuman and Swami Narayan temples. The visitors then visited CSA park before leaving for Ayodhya.
The teachers also took selfies at various sites near Sangam and showed keen interest to know about the historical importance of Teerthraj Prayag.
Maanwati, a teacher said: “I was overwhelmed during Ganga aarti at Kashi and seeing Sangam at Prayagraj. Though there is vast difference between South and north culture as well as constructions and designs of temples, but the one common thing is spirituality.”
Officials said five more batches will visit Prayagaj on December 23, 25, 27, 29 and 31. The local administration has roped in Tamil speaking volunteers for better communication.
