HC asks Pb, Hry for app to process parole & furlough pleas of jail inmates
Punjab, Haryana, and Union Territory of Chandigarh have been asked by the Punjab and Haryana high court to explore the possibility of creating a digital app in every district. The app would register applications for furlough or parole by jail inmates and provide details of proclaimed offenders, FIRs, and challans. The court observed that this app could help inmates from weaker sections of society pursue their legal matters. The court appointed an advocate as an amicus curiae and directed the submission of responses by February 13.
