Hyderabad: City’s Mohammed Riyaz won the 551-850cc (Super Sport) category title as he extended his unbeaten run in the class by winning all the four races at the NMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Drag Racing Championship 2023, which concluded at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai on Sunday.
Riyaz finished with a timing of 08.544 in Round-4 and 08.476 in the previous round earlier in the day to complete his domination in the category.Riyaz garnered a total of 100 points as 25 points are allotted for the winner in each round.
Riyaz had also won the runner-up title in the Unrestricted class eventhough his bike did not support him in this category. Speaking after the event, he said he would come back stronger in the next year championship. He thanked his family for the support, particularly his father Mohammed Yousuf who was also a racer of in 1990s. tnn
