Lucknow: Host of celebrities, including cricketers Kapil Dev and Madan Lal, singer Kailash Kher, poet Kumar Vishwas, and Union health minister Ashwini Kumar Chaubey, batted for homeopathy and other tradition healthcare systems at ‘Homeopathic Revolution 2023’ event at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan on Sunday.
The programme aimed at raising awareness about the benefits of homeopathic medicines and alternative healthcare systems.
Former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev threw light on the growing recognition of homeopathy worldwide and urged doctors to uphold the respect of the practice.
He encouraged the audience to live every moment to the fullest, as life’s precious moments cannot be recaptured. Singer Kailash Kher spoke about the power of faith and belief in a higher power. Much to the delight of the crowd, Kher performed on some of his popular numbers. Union health minister Ashwini Kumar Chaubey pledged the government’s support for the expansion of Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) medicine in India.
He also emphasized on the importance of doctors’ service-oriented approach and highlighted their role as God-like figures.
Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma also echoed the sentiments of the service, stating that doctors who prioritize profit over patient care lose their credibility.
Acclaimed poet Kumar Vishwas acknowledged the potential of homeopathy in treating even serious illnesses but stressed on the need for further research and improved accessibility for the public. Dr Umang Khanna, a homeopathic practitioner from Lucknow, highlighted the need for awareness campaigns at the block level to educate people about homeopathic treatments and enable early diagnosis and cure for various diseases.

Ayush doctors demand regularisation of their jobs
Ayush doctors working under the RBSK scheme in Odisha have threatened to go on mass leave if their jobs are not regularized. They have given a January 15 ultimatum. The State RBSK Ayush Doctors Association is demanding the regularization of their jobs. Currently, there are 1100 Ayush doctors working in the state, but the sanctioned posts are 1272. The doctors have been providing service in the critical health sector and have helped improve the infant mortality rate. If their demands are not met, they will take mass leave despite the Odisha Essential Services (Maintenance) Act.
