Vice President Gautam Buddha Nagar Praises Yogi Adityanath as Symbol of Action | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: “Uttar Pradesh is a role model in law and order,” Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said in the city on Sun-day, praising chief minister Yogi Adityanath for transforming the state by reinstating law and order and attracting record investments.
In his address at the Gautam Buddha University annual convocation ceremony, Dhankhar said Adityanath is a symbol of a person of action, and the state has become a hub of defence production and the favourite destination of premium investors under his leadership.
“Desh ki baat toh chodiye, duniya mein koi baat hoti hai role model ki toh maanniya mukhya mantri ji ko yaad kiya jata hai (Not only in the country but also the world, whenever the discussion is about role models, the chief minister’s name comes up),” Dhankhar said. “UP has become the hot favourite destination for investments, even in the premium category.”
“We have a parliamentarian who goes to Harvard and says that democracy is in danger in India. Let me tell you, boys and girls, India is the only country in the world with a constitutionally structured democracy at the village level, the panchayat level, the district level, the state level, and the Centre level,” the vice president said during his address.
“It is important for any society, especially a democratic society, that we, the common man, walk with our heads held high, and all are treated equally… But there was a time when some people used to say, ‘What will the law do to us? The law is in our hands!’ And this was also the reality. But a big change has happened. No one is above the law now,” he added.
Congratulating the students who received their degrees at the convocation, Dhankhar said GBU must reach the level of Nalanda and Takshila. “I have a demand from the honourable chief minister that the level of Gautam Buddha University should be as high as Nalanda-Takshila,” he said.
Referring to his chancellorship in three state universities and serving as the West Bengal governor before becoming the vice president, Dhankhar said, “I know what can happen with chancellors at some places. I also had the good fortune of serving at some like Panjab University… But, I can say, this convocation is unique because it has dimensions like growth, confidence and civilisational ethos, where there have been talks of keeping our cultural heritage intact and staying physically fit.”
“We have to generate a climate that combats the anti-national narrative set forth… to malign institutions and high constitutional offices. They must be nipped in the bud,” he stated.
