Country-made liquor won’t cost more from April 1: UP govt
The excise policy for financial year 2024-25, approved by the Yogi government, will not increase the prices of country-made liquor from April 1. The increase in excise duty on country-made liquor will be offset by the gains made through GST exemption. The central government has announced that extra neutral alcohol manufactured for industrial purposes will continue to attract 18% GST, while the one manufactured for liquor for human consumption will be outside the purview of GST. The state government is promoting grain-based liquor instead of molasses-based liquor.
