Coimbatore: A 25-year-old youth was booked by the Pollachi Taluk police for allegedly sodomizing his relative’s minor son on Sunday.
Police said the victim, a resident of Pollachi, was studying Class VII at a private school. The accused, M Sriram, 25, was his relative and neighbour.
According to an investigating officer, on Sunday around 6.30pm, Sriram, a daily wage labourer, lured the victim to come to an e-Seva centre, where he sodomized him, police said.The centre was closed on Sunday. “Later, the accused dropped the minor boy near his house and managed to flee from the spot,” the officer added.
The minor developed severe pain and informed his parents, who admitted him to the government hospital in Pollachi. Based on the boy’s complaint, the Pollachi Taluk police lodged a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused is absconding, police said . TNN

House of accused raided by police
Delhi Police, including two women officers, raided the house of Neelam Azad in Gasho Khurd village. The search lasted for 40 minutes and no official statement was given. Neelam’s brother mentioned that the police searched her room and confiscated her college diary, books on revolutionaries, and documents related to her bank accounts. The police stated that meeting Neelam would require permission from the court.

Rape accused flees from ‘CISF custody’, police launch hunt
Amandeep Singh, accused in a rape case in Ludhiana, allegedly fled from the custody of CISF personnel at IGI Airport. He arrived from Bahrain and was stopped at immigration due to a lookout circular against him. The accused escaped from custody by jumping a gate. Although the FIR mentioned that he fled from CISF custody, the agency denied having him in custody. Punjab Police has been informed and teams are searching for the accused.
