Ayurveda Doctor Hosts Musical Event In Memory Of His Late Father | – Times of India

Haveri: Ayurveda doctor Dr Shivanand Kembhavi conducted Ayur Sangeeta, a concert in memory of his father Amarappa Kembavi in Haveri. Shivanand, a practising doctor and professor at Sindagi Shantaveereshwar Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, lost his father last year. He organised a concert on the occasion of the first death anniversary of his father. Ayur Sangeeta attracted music lovers, and many noted artistes performed in the concert. Music lovers in the city attended event. Four artists from Sirsi performed in the concert – Nikhil Joshi on sitar, Rekha Hegde on vocal, Ganesh Bhagwat Gundkal on tabala and Chidambara Joshi on harmonium. They performed classical Kannada and Hindi film songs at the concert, artists also played old and new songs to entertain the audience. “The event was organised efficiently. The audience also enjoyed the concert,” said Sadashiva Swamiji, the seer of of Hukkerimath, Haveri. Sujit Jain, president of the Rotary Club of Haveri chapter, said Ayur Sangeeta was a memorable event.

Dharwad: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a visionary leader recognised by the whole world at his age, said former mayor Iresh Anchatageri. Addressing a ‘Good Governance Day’ event organised by BJP at Mahatma Basaveshwar Nagar here on Monday, Anchatageri said that Vajpayee intended to deliver good governance and initiated economic reforms. “Being one of the founders of BJP, he had earned respect event from his political opponents. He started offering state honour to soldiers who lost their lives during Kargil war,” he mentioned. He also said that Vajpayee materialised the dream of rural India to have good road connectivity. “Apart from urban road development, he reached every village through Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. He was a good orator, administrator and an influential personality. His policies were a model for all politicians,” he described. Advocate Shekhar Kavali, Srikant Kyatappanavar, Rajeshwari Alagawad, Harish Manakawad, Basavaraj Balagi, Prakash Yadal, Ashok Shettar, Fakkirgouda Patil, members of Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Abhimani Balaga and others were present on the occasion.
Achievers will be felicitated in Hubballi tomorrow
Hubballi: Kalpavruksha Mattu Grameenabhivruddhi Samsthe and Neravu Samsthe, Hubballi, will be jointly organising a felicitation programme for achievers in various fields on December 27 at Kannada Bhavan in Hubballi. Girija Hiremath, president of Kalpavruksha Mattu Grameenabhivruddhi Samsthe, said that they received more than 1,016 applications from 31 districts in the state, shortlisted the candidates and selected 200 applications for the felicitation. Farmers, soldiers, theatre artistes, artists, social activists and others were shortlisted after screening the applications, she said. Sara Gokavi and others were present during the press conference.
