Christmas Celebrated In Twin Cities With Pomp | – Times of India

Hubballi: Christmas was celebrated at various churches in Hubballi-Dharwad on Monday. Christian brethren visited churches on Sunday midnight and offered prayers to Jesus.
In Dharwad, Christmas was celebrated in Holy Cross Church at Saint Joseph’s School, Hebich Memorial Church near tahsildar’s office, All Saints Church on Haliyal road and other churches. In Hubballi, the festival was celebrated in Basel Mission on Karwar Road, St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Keshwapur, Infant Jesus Church in Shant Nagar and other churches.
December 25 is known as the day Jesus was born.Christian community celebrates this day as Christmas. On this day, prayers are offered in churches and a sumptuous meal is enjoyed with relatives and friends. The festivities begin from December 24 evening. The churches were decorated and children were dressed in colourful clothes.
Dharwad resident Wilson Maily told TOI that Christmas was celebrated in grand manner at Hebich Memorial Church in Dharwad by organising various programmes for children on December 24 evening. Children presented dances, skits and musical programmes during the event.
On December 25 morning, a special prayer was held. Pastor Samuel Calvin delivered the message of peace and harmony. Devotees offered prayers in the church. The bishop and the pastors delivered the Christmas messages across twin cities.
