Chennai: Sekar Viswanathan has been elected vice-president of the Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI). He was elected at the 11th general body meeting of the society, held in Bengaluru on Friday.
His election will bring substantial benefits, leveraging his 30-plus years in education, said a statement. He had received the Young Edge National Award in 2012.He actively contributed to the national-level co-chair of FICCI’s higher education committee. The meeting elected M R Jayaram, chancellor of Ramaiah University, as president.
Over 350 participants, including chancellors, vice-chancellors, presidents, and principals from diverse higher education institutions nationwide, were in attendance. TNN

Her first event is scheduled for Wisconsin on Jan. 22, the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Harris aims to rally voters to give President Joe Biden a second term and regain full control of Congress. The Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022 has made Wisconsin a critical battleground state for abortion access. Other dates and locations for Harris’ tour have not yet been announced.
