Get Poll-Ready for Chevella LS Seat: KTR Tells Ranjith | Hyderabad News | Hyderabad News – Times of India

Hyderabad: After tasting the defeat in the recently held assembly polls, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is shifting its gears and focusing its arsenal for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which are likely to be held in April 2024.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao dropped enough hints of his party’s preparedness for the general elections when he asked party Chevella sitting MP Gaddam Ranjith Reddy to get battle-ready.“KTR asked me to contest again from Chevella Lok Sabha seat and start working,” Ranjith Reddy told newsmen later.
KTR, who started reviewing with party leaders of various Lok Sabha constituencies on Monday, said party candidates who tested their luck in the assembly elections would officiate as in-charges of respective assembly segments falling under each Lok Sabha constituency. He asked the in-charges to complete constituency-wise meets with party workers and leaders by January 26.
He asked them not to get disappointed with the assembly poll results and start working for the party by touring the constituencies. He said Congress and BJP were spreading rumours that many of its leaders would leave the party, which needs to countered by party leaders locally.
Exuding confidence, Ranjith Reddy said the BRS would get a better majority than in 2019 Lok Sabha polls in Chevella. In the previous elections, he won the seat with 1.05 lakh vote majority.
He alleged that Congress made tall promises to the people in the assembly elections to come to power. “It is also saying that the BRS has done nothing for the people in the last 10 years. We will expose the Congress party’s false promises,” the MP said.
The Lok Sabha elections are going to test the resilience of BRS as Congress looks strong and the BJP, which has improved its performance, is preparing to strengthen its position in the state.
