Gurgaon: Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has decided to repair service roads from sectors 24 to 57 along the master roads. The development comes after the service roads were transferred to GMDA from the municipal corporation in September this year.
According to GMDA officials, an estimate of Rs 3.2 crore has been prepared for the annual maintenance of service roads and they have invited bids for the same.
However, sectors 36 and 37 have been excluded in the scope of work as the service roads in these areas are already under GMDA jurisdiction since 2018.
Under the project, GMDA will carry out repair and patch work on a road network of around 100 km.
“After the transfer of service roads, we have initiated the process of undertaking the annual repair and maintenance. We are expecting the tendering process to be completed by January and after the allotment of work, it will take another couple of months to make these service roads free from potholes,” said a senior GMDA official.
