All the flights were of Indigo Airlines. Two of these were international flights from Dammam (Saudi Arabia) and Doha flying towards Hyderabad. The two domestic flights, which had taken off from Mumbai and Chennai and were heading to Hyderabad, were also diverted to the city.
The diversion happened between 9am and 10am and the planes flew to their original destinations in over an hour’s time after the weather cleared at Hyderabad, said airport sources.
The two international flights from Dammam and Doha had 159 and 171 passengers respectively. “The two aircraft were also re-fuelled while they were parked at Nagpur,” said a source. The passengers did not de-board the plane.
Sources said fog had hampered visibility at Hyderabad due to which landing could not take place. The weather at Nagpur has been much clearer despite the mercury dropping. In the normal course, visibility up to 2km is expected to enable flight movements. It can reduce due to fog or haziness.

Noida and its neighboring areas also experienced improved air quality.
