Bengaluru: Three pourakarmikas, including a couple, sustained injuries after a mini goods vehicle knocked them down in BEML Layout, Rajarajeshwai Nagar, Tuesday morning when they were busy clearing waste.
Kengeri traffic police said the accident happened at 9.55am. The injured are Chinnaahgiri Shivalakshmi, 40, her husband Chinnaahgiri Lakshmaiah, 45, and their colleague Meghala M, 42, all residents of RR Nagar.
Traffic police registered a case against the driver-cum-owner, Paramesh, who claimed his slipper accidentally went under the accelerator and when he tried to take it back, he lost control of the vehicle. The goods vehicle swerved to the extreme right from the left side of the road and knocked down the two women and man before hitting an electrical pole. tnn
