LUCKNOW: Even as Samajwadi Party MP from Mainpuri Dimple Yadav has been categorical about attending the consecration ceremony at Ram Temple in Ayodhya if invited to the event, party national president Akhilesh Yadav remained non-committal on the issue. On Thursday, the former UP CM said he will visit Ram Temple whenever God wants him to.
“Hum sab log us parampara ko mante hain …aur humare purvaj aur hum logon ke samaj mein ye mana jaata hai … ki jab Bhagwan bulate hain, tabhi darshan paate hain aap (We belong to the community that believes that we can appear before God only when the God wants so),” said Akhilesh in his cryptic response to a media query about his plans for consecration ceremony.
In the absence of any confirmation of Ram Temple Trust having extended an invitation to the former UP CM and leader of Opposition in the state assembly, there was no clarity on Akhilesh’s plans to attend the consecration event on January 22.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust secretary Champat Rai had earlier appealed to all those enjoying protocols – including chief ministers, governors and ambassadors – not to plan their visit to Ayodhya on January 22 to avoid inconvenience to themselves and others as well. Interestingly on Tuesday Dimple Yadav, who is also the better half of Akhilesh Yadav, had said that she will visit the consecration ceremony if invited.
