CM: Beware of urban Naxalites active in Goa | Goa News – Times of India

PANAJI: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said that people connected to urban Naxalites are active in Goa and are going around trying to put unnecessary things in the minds of the people.
“Urban Naxalites are trying to put unwanted things in the minds of the people and divide the society based on caste and religion. We have to keep such people away,” Sawant said.
Referring to one Scheduled Caste (SC) ward in Goa, he said that there are 10 houses in that area, but they are always isolated.
“They vote for us, but they have to attend routine booth-level meetings. We must remove the barriers and invite them to attend our meeting. Similarly, we must hold meetings at their place and then they will merge with us. If they are isolated in such a manner, then they will turn into urban Naxalites. They have started approaching these villagers to make them Naxalites. It is not happening outside the state, but people connected to urban Naxalites are in Goa,” Sawant told a meeting of various BJP morchas.
The chief minister said, “We cannot discriminate and keep them away because of caste, creed and religion.” He urged the various morchas to hold meetings to reach out to all the sections of the society.
Sawant said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked everyone to focus on poor, women empowerment, youth and farmers. He told the party morchas to host farmers, women and other communities to connect with the people.
The chief minister told party workers to create awareness among the new voters about Congress misrule in the state and country and how development took place after 2014. He said that Goa has witnessed human and infrastructure development when BJP was in government.
Sawant said that BJP karyakartas should make sure that the party wins both the seats with huge margins. “Lots of people are trying to create confusion, but there is no confusion, and I can bet that BJP will win both the Lok Sabha seats,” he said.
Rajya Sabha MP and BJP state president Sadanand Shet Tanavade said BJP has decided to hold one each taluka level morcha meetings to create awareness about the BJP government’s work. Tanavade said that 18 different cells have been asked to approach people in their sector.
