Bsf Catches Trained Falcon Near Border | Jaipur News – Times of India

Jaisalmer: The Border Security Force (BSF) caught a trained hunter falcon at the international border adjoining Shahgarh Bulj on Wednesday, which later died on Thursday. Following its death, the forest department sent it for a postmortem.
Sources said the falcon was from the Gulf region and flew from the Pakistan border into India, probably after losing its way.BSF also recovered a high-tech GPS of an American company fitted under the wings of the prey bird, which has been sent to National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) in New Delhi for intensive investigation. The rings in the legs of the falcon are also being checked.
Deputy conservator of forest, Ashish Vyas confirming the death of the falcon, said that BSF handed over the falcon to the forest department and after a few hours it died. The actual reason of its death will be known after the autopsy report. This peregrine falcon is usually used for hunting. TNN
