PANAJI: The Goa staff selection commission (SSC) on Friday issued its first advertisement to fill vacant group-C posts, ending a long tradition of recruitment through government departments. The commission issued advertisements to fill 33 vacancies in nine categories in six departments.
“The candidate should ensure that they possess the requisite educational qualification, a valid 15 years residence certificate issued by the competent authority in Goa, registration with the employment exchange, Goa/valid employment registration card, birth certificate, or caste/disabilities certificate as per the instructions or order issued by the government from time to time,” the commission said.
“Our government has fulfilled its promise of time-bound, transparent recruitment in the government of Goa through the Goa staff selection commission,” said chief minister Pramod Sawant.
Our government has fulfilled its promise of time-bound, transparent recruitment in the government of Goa through the Goa staff selection commission,” said chief minister Pramod Sawant. The commission reserves the right to conduct a two-tier computer-based test (CBT) examination in case the number of candidates for any post exceeds 1,200. In case of a single-tier CBT (where candidates are fewer than 1,200), the syllabus and scheme of the examination will be as mentioned at CBT-1. In case a two-tier CBT is held, the CBT-2 exam shall be used for short-listing/screening only.
Thereafter, selection of candidates will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the CBT-1 only. TOI had reported that around 700 posts in different departments would be advertised, including lower division clerks (LDCs) and multi-tasking staff (MTS). The government had directed all departments to complete the earlier recruitment rounds by October 31 and informed departments to submit proposals to the SSC for future requirements.
The process of recruitment will start immediately after advertisements are published in newspapers and on the commission’s website. The information on the commission’s website is available in Konkani and Marathi, and will be made accessible to persons with disabilities. The portal also features the syllabus for examinations for each department’s posts, as well as mock tests.
Previous question papers will also be made available for applicants. All candidates applying for regular jobs in the departments will have to apply online. A dedicated help desk will also be set up. The website will accept applications and documents, allow the payment of fees digitally, and issue admit cards. The Goa Staff Selection Commission Regulations, 2023, have been published in the official gazette.
