End New Year Parties By 1am, Nilgiris Sp Tells Hotels | Coimbatore News – Times of India

Udhagamandalam: Nilgiris superintendent of police (SP) P Sundaravadivel has issued an advisory to the hoteliers in the district to wind up their New Year celebration parties by 1am of January 1, 2024. He has also warned of stern actions against the erring hoteliers. The rule is applicable to the operators of cottage facilities as well.
On Friday evening, the SP had held a meeting with the hoteliers in Ooty, where, he said, patrolling would be intensified on the New Year eve.
He has urged the cottages in Ooty town to arrange parking facilities for their customers. “Vehicles parked on the roadsides are adding to the traffic congestion woes in the town. Action will be taken against the cottages that fail to arrange their own parking facilities.”
The SP has also made it mandatory for the cottages and hotels to install CCTV cameras at the entrance as well as facing the road.
Meanwhile, Hotel Tamil Nadu in Ooty, run by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, has announced its plans to host a grand party for families on the New Year eve. The party would feature light music, food, cultural programmes and games for children. No liquor would be served on that day. tnn
