Gurgaon: Seven aided and self-financed colleges are yet to pay late fees worth over Rs 4 lakh for the last two sessions, 2022-23 and 2023-24, to the department of higher education for centralised admissions.
The directorate of higher education (DHE) has asked the colleges to submit the late fee at the earliest to the department or face consequences.
All colleges charge a late fee, beginning with Rs 100, from students admitted to undergraduate courses through open counselling or those who fail to complete the admission formalities before the next merit list is released.
Urging the colleges to pay their late fee, a senior official from the department said, “We are completing the process of issuing refunds to the colleges, but we are yet to receive the late fees from some of them.”
