Liquor Mafia Kingpin Arrested Under MPDA: Latest News | Nagpur News – Times of India

Nagpur: The interstate liquor mafia kingpin, Ashok Chelani, whose consignment worth ₹42 lakh was seized around a month ago, has been booked under the stringent Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (MPDA) Act by CP Amitesh Kumar this week.
Chelani was on the run for several weeks after his consignments were seized. The crime branch nabbed him a week ago.Offences were registered against him at different stations.
16-yr-old dies after 2-wheeler hits divider
A 16-year-old teenager was seriously injured after he rammed his two-wheeler into the road divider near Uday Nagar garden on December 28. He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday.
The victim, identified as Omkareshwar Kawre, had borrowed the two-wheeler from a friend for some work. Hudkeshwar police have registered accidental death. tnn
