Thane police busts rave party, detains two hosts, 100 young guests | Mumbai News – Times of India

THANE: The Thane police busted a rave party being held along an isolated stretch of the Kasarwadavli creekside in the wee hours of Sunday and detained nearly 100 young guests from across the metropolitan region including two local hosts, chief minister Eknath Shinde informed.
Shinde informed the media Sunday morning that the Thane police were tipped off about the party by informants following which they kept vigil at the spot and raided the spot. “Our government has been taking continuous action on such activities. I have already ordered the authorities to demolish all units that indulge in the sale of drugs and take strict action on those selling these contraband,” Shinde said.
Meanwhile, Thane deputy commissioner of police, crime, Shivraj Patil said the hosts had posted an invite online on social media which instantly attracted the youngsters who are likely to be hailing from various parts of the metropolitan region including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Mira-Bhayender among others, police said.
“The police commissioner issued directions to keep vigil on possible rave parties New Year eve following which we were tipped off by a reliable source. We raided the rave party going along the isolated creekside in the Kasarwadavli area and detained 95 people, including five women, who had allegedly consumed drugs and intoxicants at the illegally organised party,” he said
The police said they have seized small quantities of LSD, charas, ecstasy pills among others from the party spot collectively valued at Rs eight lakhs.
Further investigations are on, said Vikas Ghodke, senior inspector, Thane crime branch unit-5.
