Bengaluru: Forest department officials on Saturday picked up Vikram Simha, brother of BJP MP from Mysuru Pratap Simmha, for questioning in connection with a ‘tree felling’ case that was registered in Hassan district. A joint team of department officials and police detained him in Bengaluru.
As per a complaint registered by forest officials, Vikram Simha is alleged to have been involved in the chopping of 126 trees on 10 acres of land at Nandagodanahalli in Belur taluk.Following a report by the tahsildar, forest officials registered a case. “The accused is being taken to Hassan-Belur for further investigation as per the law,” forest officials said.
