Ludhiana: A 32-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Bhamiyan Kalan village on Tuesday, two days after his wife eloped with her paramour.
Jamalpur police have booked the woman and her lover for abetment to suicide.
Karan Kainth was a driver. He married Kirandeep Kaur of Khanna about three years ago. Bikkar Singh, the father of deceased, alleged that after the marriage, they found out Kirandeep had illicit relations with Sandeep of Chawa village.Kainth had asked his wife not to meet Sandeep and had warned the latter also, but to no avail.
He claimed that two days ago, Kirandeep left the house with Sandeep and Karan was upset about it. On Tuesday evening, when Karan was in his bedroom, his younger brother went to call him, but the room was locked from inside. When he looked through a window, he saw Karan hanging from a cloth tied to a ceiling fan. The family broke open the door and later informed the police.
Investigating officer Dilbagh Singh of Jamalpur police station said they had found a suicide note in which the victim had blamed Kirandeep and Sandeep. A case under sections 306 (abetment to suicide) and 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC has been registered. The accused are on the run. tnn
