LUCKNOW: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for having ended a long wait of 500 years for the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
“Under the PM and Yogi Adityanath, the wait of 500 years has come to an end and the dream of a grand temple in Ayodhya is coming true. Today Ayodhya is emerging as a centre of development and prosperity.For this, I thank the PM and CM. With the world’s attention focused on India, Uttar Pradesh emerges as its central point,” the minister said on his account on ‘X’.
Speaking at an event in Lucknow where over 925 schools renovated under the PM Shri Yojana were launched, Pradhan congratulated Yogi for implementing the National Education Policy and Operation Kayakalp. He said that of the 26 crore children in schools across the country, about 18% or 5 crore are from UP, because of which the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ could not be achieved without the state.
“There has been a change in the situation of government schools in UP. Today, I can confidently state if the data is checked, there will be a significant number of students from government schools in rural areas who have been selected for IITs, NITs and medical,” he said. Crediting the state government for swift implementation of central government schemes, he said that excellent work has been done in the field of education. Without any coaching, he said, 54 children from UP’s Navodaya Vidyalay- as were selected for IIT while 374 children have taken admission in NIT.
“Be it the NEP or Ujjwala Yojana, the way UP government has implemented these on ground has set a standard for the entire country. Whether it was the swift implemen- tation of NEP or the inclusion of 10 crore beneficiaries under the Ujjwala Yojana, UP has become the face of progress. It is to the credit of the double engine government of the PM and the CM that the children and youth of UP are getting world class education.”he added.
