BHUBANESWAR: Visitors are thronging the Sisir Saras Mela at Baramunda and the National Tribal Crafts Mela at the Exhibition Ground in the city to buy a wide variety of products which are not only useful for daily life but also are collectibles.
The products range from handloom, handicrafts, artefacts and heritage products, tribal jewellery, decorative items, metallic products, earthen utensils, paintings, organic food items, spices, processed food products, soft toys, utility items and brass and wrought iron products, among others.
“We wait for Sisira Sarasa every year to buy a variety of household items. Every stall creates an ambience of visiting the states and experiencing their culture,” said Prashanti Padhi, a homemaker.
“The tribal crafts are great collections and will help preserve and promote the country’s rich cultural heritage,” said Geeta Rani Behera, another visitor.
