TRICHY: S Prabhakar has assumed office as executive director and head of Bhel Trichy complex, comprising high-pressure boiler plant (unit I & II), seamless steel tube plant, power plant piping unit at Thirumayam and industrial valves plant at Goindwal, Punjab.
He replaces S M Ramanathan who was transferred to Bhel Bhopal.
Before the appointment, Prabhakar was functioning as executive director of coal to chemicals, Bhel, in New Delhi.
Prabhakar, 57, is a graduate in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology (formerly Regional Engineering College), Bhopal, and has a master’s degree in business administration from the Bharathidasan University, Trichy.
He has 36 years of experience in various functions at Bhel’s high-pressure boiler plant Trichy and Bhel corporate office. He joined Bhel Trichy as a graduate engineer trainee in 1987. After the formation of a new business vertical as part of Bhel’s foray into new growth areas like coal gasification and green hydrogen, Prabhakar was made head of coal to chemicals and then promoted as executive director.
