Chhapra: District election officer-cum-Saran DM Aman samir on Saturday reviewed the preparations for the by-election to the post of Chhapra Municipal Corporation (CMC) mayor, scheduled on January 22.
After withdrawal of two candidates, only 17 are in the fray for the bypoll.
The DM directed officials of the different cells constituted earlier to complete 1st level checking of EVMs for all the 296 polling booths.He asked them to keep a vigil on the activities of anti-social elements and take strict action against them, besides keeping an eye on social media.
He said the candidates had been allotted symbols and directed to follow the rules and directives communicated to them by the State Election Commission. He told them to ensure appointment of presiding, polling and other officials to be displayed at these polling stations and also arrange training sessions for them.
