Work On Long-awaited Flyover In Belagavi Starts | Hubballi News – Times of India

Belagavi: The project of constructing a 4.5-km-long flyover in Belagavi city to reduce traffic congestion is finally on the cards. This is a dream project of public works minister Satish Jarkiholi. Following the instructions of Satish Jarkiholi, Belagavi deputy commissioner Nitesh Patil held a coordination meeting with officials of different departments here on Saturday, to finalise the plan.
According to DC Patil, the flyover will come up between Pune-Bengaluru National Highway-4 and Channamma Circle, passing via Ashok Circle and RTO Circle. It was discussed in the meeting to develop a plan which would help to reach the upcoming multi-super specialty hospital and the upcoming deputy commissioner’s office complex.
According to the preliminary plan, there will be two ramps at Ashok Circle- one going towards RTO Circle and another towards Mahantesh Nagar attached to the flyover. There will be three ramps at RTO Circle- one towards Channamma Circle, second towards Kolhapur Circle and the third towards the central bus terminus. Apart from this, another road will connect Sambra Airport Road via road overbridge at Gandhi Nagar.
According to the plan, there will be arches on the roads which connect with Channamma Circle. DC Nitesh Patil instructed the officials of BSNL, Hescom, water supply board and other concerned departments to take appropriate measures for the implementation of the flyover project.
Ashok Dudagunti, commissioner of Belagavi City Corporation, executive engineer of the National Highways Authority of India Rajendra, executive engineer of the public works department SS Sobarad and officials of other departments including Belagavi Smart City Limited, KSRTC etc were present.
