Miscreants Set Sadhu On Fire In Kannauj | Kanpur News – Times of India

Kanpur: In a shocking incident, a sadhu was set on fire in an ashram in Kannauj district on Tuesday night. On coming to know about the incident, police reached the spot and admitted the sadhu to the Government medical college Tirwa, where his condition was stated to be critical. Sources informed that ncident was fallout of some dispute going on among sadhus regarding chair of Mahant in Jaleshwar Ashram of Kannauj.
On Tuesday night, twenty-year-old sadhu Shivdas alias Shivam, staying in the ashram, was doused by an inflammable substance and later set on fire by some miscreants, who later fled away. Meanwhile, hearing loud shrieks of Shivdas, people nearby rushed to the spot and somehow extinguished the fire and then informed the police about the incident.
The police reached the ashram and admitted the sadhu to the Government medical college, Tirwa where his condition was stated to be critical. tnn
