Margao: A five-year-old child and two others were injured in an attack by a wild boar at Khalwade, Canacona, on Thursday.
Sources said that Dilip Gaonkar, a resident of Khalwade, was proceeding to drop his son, 5, to the nearby primary school on his motorcycle, when a wild boar hit his two-wheeler, causing the duo to fall off the bike and sustain injuries.Just then, another person who was passing the same way by motorcycle stopped to assist Gaonkar and his son. However, the wild boar attacked him too. He also suffered injuries.
The five-year-old child was initially treated at the Canacona primary health centre but was later referred to the South Goa district hospital, Margao, where he is undergoing treatment. The other two persons were discharged after preliminary treatment.
