Lucknow: UP’s minister for industrial development Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi on Thursday said that Congress has always hurt sentiments of Hindu believers.
Reacting to the news of Congress leadership’s denial to attend Lord Ram’s consecration ceremony, Nandi said: “The grand old party has left even Mughal emperor Babur behind.” Asserting that the Congress had denied the entity of Lord Ram in the court of law and engaged an army of lawyers to prove their point.
“The fact that it took them about two weeks even to deny the invitation speaks that they were more concerned about politics than public sentiment,” Nandi said accusing them of nurturing politics of appeasement.
Targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Nandi said that by wearing a ‘janeu’ in public one doesn’t become a Hindu or by wearing a cap one doesn’t become a Muslim either. “Rahul Gandhi or other Congress leaders may go on temple hopping before elections but their drama always ends up hurting Hindu sentiments,” he said.
