Firearms used to gun down Mohol were bought in MP Pune | Pune News – Times of India

Pune: The state prosecution on Thursday told a magisterial court that the firearms used to gun down gangster Sharad Mohol (40) were bought from Madhya Pradesh.
The Pune police crime branch on Thursday night arrested Satish Shedge (28) and Dhananjay Watkar (25) from Satara on the charge of selling firearms to Namdeo Kangude, one of the suspects arrested for the murder on January 6.
A magisterial court sent Shedge and Watkar to police custody remand till January 17.
Assistant commissioner of police (crime) Sunil Tambe told TOI, “Investigations have revealed that Shedge and Watkar procured firearms through their contacts in Madhya Pardesh. We will be taking the duo into confidence to trace the source of the weapons.” Earlier, Tambe produced the suspects before the court to seek custodial remand.
Assistant public prosecutor Nilam Yadav-Ithape told the court that custodial interrogation of the duo was essential to find out their individual roles in the crime, to establish the identity of the supplier and manufacturer of the firearms.
The prosecution submitted the police had recovered three country made pistols and needed time to recover one more weapon. The court upheld the plea and sent the two to police custody remand for seven days.
In a related development, the court sent lawyers Ravindra Pawar and Sanjay Udan arrested in the murder case to magisterial custody remand for 14 days.
