Pune: A short circuit in an electricity meter box caused a fire on the ground floor of a four-storeyed restaurant in Chinchwad on Thursday night.
The Pimpri Chinchwad fire brigade doused the fire and safely evacuated 11 staff members and eight guests. No one sustained injuries.
An officer from the fire brigade department said the control room received a call about a fire in a restaurant at Thermax Chowk at around 8pm on Thursday.Three fire tenders and 15 firemen were pressed into service. TNN
