LUCKNOW: Giving final touches to the blueprint for foolproof security in Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony of Ram temple, and thereafter, UP Police have made elaborate security arrangements for Ayodhya railway station and satellite railway halts around it.
At least 200 Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel, 400 Railway Protection Force (RPF) men and two companies of PAC will be deployed at the railway station.
A control room will also be set up at the DGP headquarters for round-the-clock monitoring. The initial plan for 100 days has been put in place after which modifications in deployment are likely to be made based on footfall. Also, 20 additional trains are expected to reach Ayodhya from southern and western parts of India after the consecration ceremony because of which the capacity to handle passengers has been increased at Salarpur, Darshannagar and Narendradev railway stations.
Additional director general, GRP, JN Singh said that efforts were on to prepare a meticulous plan for hassle-free services at the railway stations. “We have extensively studied the plans of Mahakumbh in Prayagraj and Haridwar and chalked out the plan for Ayodhya with a few modifications,” he said. “Infrastructure at railway stations of Ayodhya Dham and Ayodhya Cantonment have been upgraded in view of consecration ceremony.
We have installed high-end CCTVs at these places,” he added. Currently, Ayodhya Dham has three platforms while Ayodhya Cantonment has six platforms. “Training in soft skills has been imparted to GRP personnel who have been deployed on duty at Ayodhya Dham railway station,” the ADG said. The district administration is coordinating with departments concerned for providing transportation to devotees from railway stations to pilgrimage site.
