‘retirement Dues Must Be Cleared Soon’ | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Retirement benefits to teaching and non-teaching staff of the state universities and colleges should be paid on the date of superannuation itself, said governor-cum-chancellor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.
Speaking at the seventh senate meeting of the Patliputra University (PPU) held at the J D women’s College here on Saturday, Arlekar said all pending cases of retirement dues must be cleared on priority failing which Raj Bhawan would take serious note of it.
“The university must ensure that promotions to the teachers are given in due time. It should work out an annual timetable to give due promotions to teachers within the stipulated time frame,” he said.
While praising the efforts of the state government to create a separate sports department, Arlekar stressed the need to carry on sports activities in all universities of the state. He asked the state universities to revive the ‘Eklavya’ sports programme to give a boost, not only to sports but also to provide an ideal platform to the talented and budding sportspersons in the state universities.
