BJP: Yuti Allies Unite Against Uddhav’s Betrayal | Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: BJP held the first ever meeting of party workers across the three main alliance partners—BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP—on Sunday.
At its meeting at Rang Sharda, city BJP chief Ashish Shelar said the reason for the alliance was Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray’s “treachery” towards Hindutva for the sake of power. “Eknath Shinde and others who believed in the Hindutva ideology rebelled…To come together was a decision taken by Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar,” he said. For a firm yuti (alliance), he asked workers to raise slogans in favour of each other.
Sena’s Gajanan Kirtikar said the alliance was not about distribution of cabinet portfolios but party workers’ unity. “We have found an alternative to Arvind Sawant (Mumbai South MP),” said Kirtikar, referring to Congress’s ex-MP Milind Deora joining Sena.
At a meeting in Thane, Union minister Kapil Patil said the opposition was forced to form an alliance to counter PM Narendra Modi. MP Shrikant Shinde, too, criticised the opposition. tnn
