The recently released trailer for Pankaj Tripathi’s upcoming film, ‘Main Atal Hoon’, offers a glimpse into the major moments from the life of the late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The film delves into key events, including Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination, Vajpayee‘s early political struggles, his opposition to Indira Gandhi during the Emergency, the Babri Masjid demolition, the Pokhran nuclear test, and the Kargil War.

The trailer opens with a scene featuring Atal Bihari Vajpayee, portrayed by Tripathi, watching a film. At this moment, Vajpayee remarks to his friend about the public’s belief in what is presented to them through media and cinema. The narrative swiftly transitions to Vajpayee grappling with criticism and violence, particularly concerning Nathuram Godse, Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin, who spent time in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, an organisation of which Vajpayee was also a member.
The clip further shows Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s political saga by showing his loyal opposition against Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi during the Emergency. Directed by Ravi Jadhav, ‘Main Atal Hoon’ is written by Rishi Virmani and Ravi Jadhav. The film also stars Piyush Mishra, Raja Rameshkumar Sevak, Daya Shankar Pandey, Pramod Pathak, Paayal Kapoor Nair, Harshad Kumar, Prasanna Ketkar, Haresh Khatri, Paula McGlynn, Gauri Sukhtankar. It will be released in theatres on January 19.
