Hyderabad: A watchman was allegedly murdered by a mason working at an under-construction building for complaining to the builder about accused stealing scrap material from site.
The deceased, K Jangaiah (53) of Kandukur, was the watchman at the building site in Green Lands Colony in Manchirevula area of Narsingi. The accused mason, Arjun Manjhi, is a migrant worker from Bihar.
Recently, the contractor had warned Arjun after Jangaiah informed him that the mason was stealing scrap material from the construction site and selling it to scrap vendors.
On Monday evening, Arjun had purchased liquor and offered it to Jangaiah. A drunk Arjun later picked up an argument with Jangaiah for complaining to the contractor and hit him on the head with an iron rod.
Jangaiah died on spot, police said. After Jangaiah collapsed, Arjun fled from the spot and his body was later found by locals. The accused was reportedly caught on Tuesday. tnn
