CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin on Wednesday appreciated the state MSME department for Tamil Nadu being adjudged as the best performer in state startup rankings released by the Union government on Tuesday.
Calling it an achievement, Stalin said it was possible due to the initiatives of the state government such as TANSEED, capital funds for SCs and STs, ‘Launchpad’ events and others.
Comparing the position of startups at present with that in the previous AIADMK regime, Stalin said Tamil Nadu was lingering at the bottom in 2018 but the state emerged as the leader in 2022.
“Tamil Nadu has 7,600 startups. In 2022 alone, 2,250 startups were registered. This is evidence for our giant leap,” Stalin said.
While appreciating MSME minister T M Anbarasan and department officials, Stalin asked them to retain the position and to achieve great heights.
