Civic Body Cracks Down On Illegal Bldgs | Ludhiana News – Times of India

Ludhiana: In its crackdown on illegal construction in the city, municipal corporation (MC) demolished four illegal under-construction buildings, including labour quarters and commercial units on Thursday.
The MC officials took action against three commercial illegal buildings which were under construction in Model town market, on Model Town-Jawaddi road (near Mint Gumri chowk) and in Model Town extension area. The buildings were being constructed in violation of the building bylaws, including parking violations.
The MC zone D team also demolished labour quarters being established illegally in a plot in New BRS Nagar (Sunet).
MC chief Sandeep Rishi appealed to the residents to stop illegal construction and commence works only after getting the building plan approved. He said that the drive against illegal constructions will continue in the coming days too and strict action will be taken against the violators. tnn
