Bhubaneswar: Alleging large-scale irregularities in the appointment of junior teachers (schematic), hundreds of aspirants on Thursday protested in front of Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) office. The aspirants alleged that though the exam was held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode there were no normalization marks given, neither any merit list was published.
Nearly 1,000 students have applied through RTI to get details of the marks candidates have secured.
“There are so many irregularities in the exam starting from the application level till the announcement of results. Though there was an eligibility criterion, anyone could apply for the post. Candidates with dubious names and other details have been selected. We demand a merit list and normalization of marks,” said an aspirant in front of the OSEPA office.
The agitating candidates brought to notice several anomalies like an admit card issued in the name of one ‘Mahal Manda’ (a trending Odia song) while his father’s name was mentioned as Mahal Manda Pro.
OSEPA project director Anupam Saha said, “A draft merit list of 18,805 candidates have been published. Some candidates had objections about the answer keys of the test. We examined the objections from our side. The result of the exam was evaluated on the basis of the CBT scores, and we found it error-free.”
