Noida: Two men died when a car collided with them in Greater Noida’s Rabupura area on Thursday evening. A complaint was registered at Rabupura police station against the identified car driver, who fled, leaving the vehicle behind.
The deceased, identified as Zulfikar (32) and Gaurav Singh (28), were both residents of a village in Rabupura and used to work at a private firm, said a senior police officer.
Around 6.15pm, the deceased were walking home when a speeding Santro hit them from behind. Zulfikar suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot while Gaurav was rushed to a nearby hospital by the locals, but he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment on Thursday. Police were informed on the helpline and a team rushed to the spot.
A case has been filed under IPC sections 304-A (causing death by negligence), 279 (rash driving), and 338 (act endangering life and personal safety of others).
