Jan 22: ‘All Goa villages regarded as Ayodhya’ | Goa News – Times of India

Panaji: Every Goan village will be regarded as Ayodhya and every temple will be considered Lord Ram’s sanctum, as programmes planned by state’s temple committees and government celebrate the consecration of the Ram Mandir on Monday. Bhajans, kirtans, live public screenings of the inauguration of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, and the felicitation of karsevaks have been planned.
The RSS has reached out to temple committees, telling them to organise various programmes on Monday including Ram Naam jaap and a competition among children to educate them about Lord Ram.Some temples in Goa have scheduled Prabhat Pheri. In the evening on Monday, temple committees have been urged to organise bhajans and kirtans.
A group of 25 people had been constituted by the RSS to visit each and every household in Goa including those of Muslims and Christians to present the photo of the new Ram Temple in Ayodhya and ‘Akshata’ brought from the holy UP city.
“When RSS members sought funds for the construction of the temple in Ayodhya, Muslims and Christians donated for the cause in 2021,” a senior RSS functionary said. “When they have donated, why should we not invite them?”
Besides organising various programmes in all the temples of the state, the RSS has appealed to people to light at least five lamps and akash kandils at their homes. The RSS members will go once again to households across the state after Monday and encourage people to participate in social work.
“Some temple committees and government have decided to felicitate karsevaks,” a senior RSS functionary said.
BJP has taken up the cleaning of temples in the state and has planned events in villages. State government will hold special programmes at Porvorim and Margao.
Government’s “Enlightening Sri Ram Jyoti” will be held on Jan 22 from 6pm at Porvorim. The Cumbharjua village panchayat issued a public notice telling people not to eat non-vegetarian food or drink alcohol on the auspicious day. Restaurants have been told to stick to the vegetarian menu.
