MC bags best retrofit green space award for Leisure Valley – Ludhiana Smart City Limited | – Times of India

Ludhiana: The Ludhiana Smart City Limited (LSCL) bagged the “Best Retrofit Green Spaces award” during the Smart Cities India awards organised by the ministry of housing and urban affairs (MoHUA) in Delhi on Friday. The award is for retrofitting of the Leisure Valley, near the MC Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar. The Leisure Valley is spread over seven acres of land and the project has been implemented at a cost of Rs 2.98 crore under the Smart City mission.
The award was received by superintending engineer Sanjay Kanwar on behalf of MC commissioner/chief executive officer (CEO), LSCL Sandeep Rishi. The ministry of housing and urban affairs (MoHUA) showcased the achievements of the mission at the “National Smart Cities Mission Pavilion,” which featured models of some of the most impactful projects in 100 smart cities. MC commissioner Sandeep Rishi said that establishing green spaces was the need of the hour in Ludhiana – the industrial hub of Punjab. With focus on sustainable development and spreading green cover, Leisure Valley is a 400m long green stretch with different varieties of plants, pathway, gazebos, seating, swings, sandpits, lighting and parking space.
