New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has suspended 13 sanitation workers from Narela and Sadar Paharganj zones for approaching the labour court more than once for the same arrears and civic body suffered financial loss due to repeat payment of the due amount.
“Due to payment of the same amount more than once the corporation has to suffer financial loss.Payment of the same amount more than once can be considered an attempt to cheat the department hence employees should not take such steps. Some sanitation workers approach the Labour Court even after receiving their dues. After the payment order is passed from the Labour Court the bank debited the outstanding amount from the corporation’s account and deposits it into the account of the sanitation worker,” stated an MCD’s statement. After preliminary investigation, some cases have been detected from Narela and Sadar Paharganj zones and these workers have been suspended, it added.
