Ram Temple Consecration: Viral Pictures of Idol with Open Face | Lucknow News – Times of India

AYODHYA: Some pre-installation old pictures of Ram Lalla‘s idol showing its face went viral on social media platforms on Friday evening. Office-bearers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and temple trust denied they had released any picture of the idol, but the photographs were all over the TV channels and social media platforms.
In one of the pictures, the idol, carved in black stone from Karnataka, has its eyes covered with a piece of yellow cloth and is adorned with a garland of roses. In another, its face is uncovered. The VHP functionaries said that these pictures had been taken discreetly a few days before the idol was placed inside the temple and were being circulated now. The backdrop of the idol reveals that the pictures were clicked when it was kept at an ashram before being transported to the temple complex.
“The idol of Ram Lalla was placed on the ‘singhasan’ (throne) on Thursday night. The eyes were covered and nobody other than acharyas and volunteers deputed by the trust can access the area without permission. The first pictures of the complete idol are expected to be available only on 22,” said VHP spokesperson in Ayodhya, Sharad Sharma.
Meanwhile, the present makeshift temple of Ram Lalla has been closed till the installation ceremony for the preparation of rituals. Temple trust members say that darshan will remain suspended from Saturday morning. “Darshan will now be available in the new temple,” said a trust member. The present idol, which will become a moveable idol, would be moved inside the garbhagriha of the newly constructed temple placed in front of the new Ram Lalla idol.
Meanwhile, fourth day consecration rituals were performed by 121 acharyas. It started with lighting up the kund with fire amid Vedic mantras. Nine kunds had been set up within the ‘yagyashala’ and were lit up simultaneously by acharyas.
After this, Vedparayan followed for generating positive energy and vibrations to counter negative forces. The rituals continued till late evening after which an aarti was conducted of all the gods and goddesses in the universe.
The proceedings of the pran pratistha ceremony are being telecast live by the national broadcaster. On Saturday, elaborate rituals have been planned which will start with morning prayers, hawan, recitation of shlokas, offering of prasada in 81 pots, washing and bath of the idols with therapeutic and medicinal waters, flower abode among others.
