PRAYAGRAJ: This year onward, monitoring of question papers of UP Board high school and intermediate examinations scheduled from Feb 22, will be done the way EVMs are secured after voting.
For round-the-clock monitoring, night vision cameras will be installed at the strong rooms. Not only this, but armed police force will also be deployed to guard the strong rooms at the examination centre 24×7.To maintain the security and confidentiality of question papers, additional chief secretary Deepak Kumar has sent instructions to all DMs, police commissioners, SSPs, directors of secondary education, secretary of UP Board and divisional joint directors of education.
To keep the question papers and documents related to exams, a secure room separate from the principal’s room will be made a strong room. This strong room will have two almirahs for keeping these items.
There will be a provision to keep the question papers received before the examination in the first double locked cupboard. The remaining question papers and bundle slips will be kept in the second cupboard. Good quality night vision CCTV cameras will be installed to ensure proper monitoring of the strong room and the cupboards. The recording capacity of the DVRs of these CCTV’s will be at least 30 days.
On the arrival of question papers and answer sheets at the examination centre, the recording of the strong room and the recordings of the CCTV cameras installed in the examination hall of the entire exam period will have to be kept safe for at least six months, which will have to be made available to the board if required.
In addition to this, the keys of the strong room will be kept safe with the static magistrate posted at the centre.
The two locks will be opened only in the presence of a static magistrate. The static magistrate, centre administrator and external centre administrator will be held responsible if the question paper is taken before the commencement of the respective examination. No officer/employee will be allowed to enter the strong room with a mobile phone.
