New Delhi: Prior to the consecration ceremony of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya on Jan 22, Hindu Sena activists defaced signboards at Babar Road in Lutyens’ Delhi by putting the stickers of ‘Ayodhya Marg‘ on Saturday.
According to visuals shared by news agency ANI, the stickers, saffron in colour, have the words “Ayodhya Marg” written in both English and Hindi. However, the stickers were later removed
Later, Hindu Sena president Vishnu Gupta, in a video posted on X platform, said the right-wing organisation has been demanding for a long time that the name Babar Road should be changed.
Officials of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) said that they have been receiving so many requests for renaming the road, but no decision has been taken so far in this matter.
An NDMC official said they were getting the stickers or posters removed and will file a police complaint in the matter. “We removed the poster on Saturday morning as soon as we got to know about the pasting of the poster,” said the official. tnn
