Prayagraj: A day before consecration ceremony of Lord Ram’s idol in Ayodhya, the Prayagraj police have intensified cyber patrolling and is keeping a close eye on every move on social media. DCP (City) Deepak Bhukar told TOI, “Cops are keeping round-the-clock vigil on social media and electronic channels, and scanning for offensive and objectionable posts that could disrupt law and order.Apart from cyber patrolling and deployment of district police forces at all static locations including Magh Mela, we have decided to deploy as many as 40 QRT (Quick Reaction Teams) across the district”.
DCP added, “Cops apart from intensifying checking and frisking at public places including railway stations, bus stand, prominent markets, malls etc, have also taken up foot patrolling in market and sensitive points”. Thana prabhari along with forces have been asked to remain mobile throughout the day and initiate stringent action against trouble makers.
More importantly, cops have also chalked out an elaborate security plan for city based temples anticipating that large number of devotees would be visiting city’s prominent temples including Civil Lines Lord Hanuman temple, Sangam located Bade Hanuman temple, Mankameshwar, Rambagh Hanuman mandir etc and decided to deploy additional police forces to regulate the flow of crowd. Duties of traffic policemen have also been assigned for smooth traffic management in and around temples.
“Cops have taken all sensitive and vulnerable points under scanner across the district and deployment of police forces along with PAC battalion has been done accordingly” said a senior cop adding that cops have been asked to be remain alert and take action against suspect elements and trouble makers promptly. Cyber patrolling drive was intensified in November 2019 also when the Supreme Court verdict on the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title case was delivered.
